Some reported “goose bumps” last year (2010) when we performed the Fauré Requiem in observance of All Souls’ Day. This year, on Sunday, October 30th, 2011 at four o’clock in the afternoon, we presented the hauntingly beautiful Requiem of Camille Saint-Saëns. (Fauré was his student.) Our own David Štech conducted the orchestra, and a choir of lay and professional voices.
This is the Gospel which was sung, and is offered as an example.
Remember that having the music is relatively unimportant when compared with the value of the time spent with our Lord in living into the text while composing the music.
